As former professional chef at luxury hotels in Switzerland, Boston and Vancouver, and café owner and manager, I developed a hands-on appreciation for the details of teamwork, co-ordination and production management. Soon after establishing a web presence for my business in 1995, I became captivated with the Internet and began a new career.

In 1997 I began as a project manager for Emerge Online, one of Vancouver's first web development firms. Recruited to Imediat Digital (later Communicate.com) in 1999, I handled many of the largest and most technically sophisticated projects at the company, including Tripeze.com and PhotoChannel Networks. Moving up once again, as a Senior Project Manager for Blast Radius, I oversaw production and maintained project scope, budget and timelines on projects for Blast's flagship clients Nintendo of America and Nintendo of Europe. Under the banner of my consulting practice, Bernward Consulting, I worked as contract project manager and development consultant on Internet projects for clients such as Tribal DDB and Human Performance. Currently I am employed as Senior Project Manager for TELUS Business Solutions.

I am PMP certified and teach at the University of British Columbia and advise with the creation of new Internet programs as well as curriculum and course development.
